Built from scratch and grown into Malaysia’s go-to content hub for exotic and small animal pet care — now pulling in 1.5M+ search impressions and 11,600+ clicks from Google.
Context
Exotic & Small Animals Medical Centre is a veterinary clinic in Malaysia treating everything from rabbits and hamsters to reptiles, amphibians & birds a niche most local vet clinics don’t serve well.
They needed a website that could double as an educational hub somewhere pet owners actually turn to before or after a vet visit, not just a digital business card.

Overview
Built the site from the ground up on WordPress homepage, treatment pages, an FAQ, a gallery, and a full animal directory organized by species (mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds). Once it was live, moved into SEO: structuring content around what exotic pet owners in Malaysia actually search for, and building the site’s authority from zero. Live site: exoticandsmallanimals.com<\/a>
Challenge
Exotic pet care is a tiny, underserved search category next to cats and dogs, there wasn’t much existing search demand to tap into.
Growing visibility meant creating content that basically didn’t exist yet for a Malaysian audience, species-specific guides, treatment pages, and an FAQ built around real owner questions.
Solution
SEO work centered on keyword-mapped content hubs for each animal category, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds, paired with on-page optimization (titles, meta descriptions, headers) and internal linking between species guides, treatment pages, and the FAQ. Site structure and technical foundations (speed, mobile, clean URLs) were built for long-term organic growth rather than one-off rankings.<\/p>
- Species-specific content hubs (mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds) mapped to real search demand
- On-page SEO across treatment pages, FAQ, and blog — titles, meta, headers, internal linking
- Technical foundations built for long-term organic growth, not one-off rankings
Results
Traffic has stayed consistent month over month rather than spiking and fading a sign the content is actually answering what exotic pet owners in Malaysia are searching for, not chasing a temporary trend.
